Ghor Institute of Higher Education in 2012 AH. On behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education; The center was established in the city of Firuzkuh, the capital of Ghor province, to promote education, research and innovation in the field of technology, develop contemporary science and provide quality educational services to Afghan youth. Due to the brilliant history and civilization of the ancient province of Ghor, this institute is named after Ghor Institute of Higher Education. This scientific institution was established in the academic year 2012 with the approval of the Faculty of Education. It started its activities in the fields of (Mathematics - Physics) and (Chemistry - Biology) with four scientific staff.

 This institute with the efforts of the officials of this new institution and the support of the Ministry of Higher Education of the country during its ten years of life in order to present young people with the ornament of science and knowledge, was able to gain the credibility of its supporters and the ground for expanding more activities and providing services. Provide a broader knowledge to our compatriots from all over the country. Until, in 2017 AH. sh. The Faculty of Agriculture with two departments (Agronomy and Animal Sciences) was approved in the formation of this academic institution. In 2010 AH. sh. The Faculty of Computer Science with two departments (Network Engineering and Information Systems) was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Faculty of Sharia with two departments (Fiqh, Law and Islamic Education) in 1402 AH. Approved and ready to provide scientific services.

Ghor Institute of Higher Education has gradually developed and currently has four faculties (Faculty of Education, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Sharia) each with several departments.

 Faculty of Education with eleven departments; Includes departments of biology, history, psychology, mathematics, Dari Persian language and literature, English language and literature, computer education, physics, Pashto language and literature, chemistry and Islamic sciences and culture.

 Faculty of Agriculture with Animal Sciences and Agronomy.

 Faculty of Computer Science with Departments of Network Engineering and Information Systems.

 The Faculty of Sharia Law has two departments of jurisprudence, law and Islamic teachings, which provide scientific and educational services to those interested in these fields of study.

 The Institute has signed scientific and research cooperation partnerships with Kabul and Bamyan Universities of Education, the aim of these partnerships is to strengthen scientific, research, cultural cooperation and use each other's capacities and facilities with It is in accordance with the principles and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education. The institute has a library and a laptop computer, which can solve the problems of students in this area.

Goals and plans

 Ghor Institute of Higher Education continues its scientific activities to provide higher education services in the society and, like other public educational institutions in the country, considers it its mission and duty to provide quality educational services to the people and society of Afghanistan. It has made the growth and improvement of higher education in the country and the education of citizens its main goals.

Ghor Institute of Higher Education tries to organize and implement its programs and projects for training scientific and academic cadres, in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education and provide good and quality services for the children and youth of this land.

The board of directors of the institute is trying to turn the institute into a university within five years; Because in terms of academic rank, the academic staff members of this institute will reach the rank of professor in the next three to four years. It will also fulfill other requirements for becoming a university. The institute is sincerely trying to provide professional and expert cadres in various fields to the society and take a positive step towards solving the country's scientific problems.
